Meet Kat

Please allow me to introduce you to my company, CPR With Kat.  As the owner and founder, I have been providing training and certification for First Aid/CPR/AED and Basic Life Support for over 10 years. I have an undergrad in family studies/human development and a masters in social problems/social policy which both have fueled my desire to help and educate people in my community.

The latest statistics continue to emphasize the need for rapid medical response in workplaces.  With an overburdened first response system, it is even more important to have trained and confident co-workers when emergencies arise. My journey started back in 2009 when I was working for an ABA company in Tucson, Arizona. Every year I would have to be certified in CPR to keep my job helping families. I saw first hand what a blessing being certified could be when I had to use my training on a choking client. When I moved back to California (specifically the bay area), I continued my work in this field. The company I worked for at the time sent me to become a certified CPR/First Aid trainer so that I could train all new company members and families of those we worked with. I feel in love with teaching and continue to love it.

After years of only teaching for behavioral therapists, I started teaching in home classes to family and friends who were looking to build their knowledge for their own piece of mind. That turned into me starting my own company and continuing to offer not only certifications but prenatal/postnatal class to families so they were comfortable taking their children home from the hospital. I felt as if during my pregnancies this was missing from my birthing classes and I knew how essential this course would be. I started out offering it to friends/family, and now I’ve started partnering with companies around the Bay Area, as well as still holding local and private classes for anyone who requests them.

Whether it was an infant class for new mothers and fathers, a BLS class for health care workers, a EMSA class for childcare providers or a first aid course for a girl scout to earn their badge, CPR with Kat was born and I’ve never looked back.

It is a passion of mine that I am able to provide a service to the people in my community that could help others. Emergencies happen, accidents happen and they could happen to you or to someone you love. The more people that are properly trained in CPR and First aid, the better the odds are they will receive the care they need in time.

Thank you for taking the time to better yourself. Whether it’s required for your work or not, you are making a difference.
